Gullible's Travels

Last night I died and went to shopping heaven. Chiang Mai Night Bazar is huge, friendly and cheap. I didn't have my camera so there are no photos but I will go back again.

Today I got taken for a ride (literally and figuratively) by a tuktuk driver. If i never see another cashmere carpet shop with a another haughty, sexist cashmere salesman again I will be happy. I tell them I have no home to put it in and they tell me if I buy the carpet the home will build around it! Three hot and dusty hours later my "tour around the city' had not even gotten me to the western side of the Chaing Mai moat. I had to beg the driver sweetly not to take me to his 'sister's' tailor shop'. He let me off for free though because he got a flat tyre at the gem store and I had to wait over 1/2 an hour for 8 diffferent túktúks to come and help him fix it. First he tried to chat me up (and second and third) then he was telling me how he had 2 daughters to support. Perhaps I should have called this blog Gullible's Travels.

I love you, and think you are great. Very happy to hear that you are having the adventure you were hoping for. Even at three times the price asia is still cheap. I am going to N Y City in early september and would like to stop by and see you for a few days, do you know where you will be? Love the world and it will love you back.
