Broome, for MC & Patsy
Thanks for asking me to resume my blog, I'm not going to fill in all the gaps, but there's been lots happening lately and lots to write about. I've just finished a 7 week visit to Australia and now I am in Kochi, SE India for a few days, and India for 2 months. But, I made a promise to make my first comeback blog Broome....

I've always wanted to go to Broome, ever since I moved to Darwin 12 years ago, so I was really pleased to be able to visit people there, and see something new. What better time than a birthday, so after 2 weeks in Darwin I was winging it, via 40 minutes in Kunnanarra, to the north west coast. The flight alone was worth it.

Landing, it was 23 C and raining, a relief after Darwin's empty promises of rain, but that was the only day it rained, and Broome really is hotter (humidity-wise) than Darwin, because it rains less. Since it was sooo hot, our first stop was 'tits-out-thursday' at the Roey for some local tradition. I'm the one on the right ( yeah-right).
There was a lovely reunion lunch with old Maningrida pal, Krista, who brought along the gorgeous Billy, at Zanders, Cable Beach. Fantastic view, pretty good food and wonderful company.

Michelle's birthday was the main event, dinner at the Old Zoo Cafe, and a pub crawl from one end of Broome to the other.
I caught up with my cousin Jess, who I hadn't seen in years. She was travelling around Australia with her lovely boyfriend Shaun. We had sunset cocktails at the Cable Beach Club.

And I dragged Michelle around to all the sights, Gantheame Pt, the Japanese Cemetary, the Pearl Lugger, the Sun Cinema, finally our last drinks at Matso's, where they brew their own boutique beers. My fave was the Smokey Bishop.
